HE HAD EVERYTHING—AND WALKED AWAY TO FIGHT A WAR MANY SAID WASN’T HIS
Issac grew up in poverty in Mexico. After his mother’s death, he fought to build a new life in the United States. He became a Marine officer, graduated from business school, and built the ideal life—with success, comfort, and options. Then he left it all when Russia invaded Ukraine. Driven by outrage and conscience to stop the aggression, Issac joined the Ukrainian army.
In the war, he and his teammates faced incredible tragedy and triumph. One fighter is captured, one goes missing, others are left behind. But despite the devastating loss, they halt the invasion, liberate cities, and help save a country.
Reckoning Dreams and Fire is both a soldier’s memoir and a meditation on purpose—an exploration of what prosperity means, if not tested by sacrifice, and what we owe to the freedom of others.
